On April 18, 1906 the San Andreas fault moved powerfully in a
magnitude 7.8 earthquake eventually destroying over 80% of all buildings in San
Francisco and killing over 3,400 people.
There have been public displays of same sex marriage before; more
and more people think it’s no big deal; why did this event generate a Spiritual
earthquake?
Jesus Christ Himself defined marriage. Quoting from Genesis 1:27, 2:24, and 5:2 Jesus
defined marriage, once in the Book of Matthew 19:4-6, and again in the Book of
Mark 10:6-9: “ But from the beginning of
the creation, God made them male and female.
For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to
his wife, and the two shall become one flesh; so then they are no longer two,
but one flesh. Therefore what God has
joined together, let not man separate.”
Later, as the Risen Christ, Jesus explains in Revelation chapter
21:8 and 27 and 22:14 that not everyone will be able to enter the New Jerusalem
and drink of the River of Life, enjoying eternal fellowship with Him. He tells us in Revelation 22:12-17: “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one
according to his work. 13 I
am the Alpha and the Omega, the
Beginning and the End, the
First and the Last.” 14 Blessed
are those who do His
commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter
through the gates into the city. 15 But
outside are dogs and sorcerers
and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and
practices a lie. 16 “I,
Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am
the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.” 17 And the Spirit and the
bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts
come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.”
Being sexually immoral disqualifies a person from receiving eternal
life with the Living God.
Additionally, Jesus is returning soon as the “Bridegroom” to meet
His believers, His “Bride.” As marriage
is continuing to be debased, as the definitions of “bridegroom” and “bride” are
being fundamentally changed, it is an attempt to debase Jesus Himself as the
soon returning Bridegroom. Those with
spiritual discernment see that the movement toward same sex marriage thus has
at its root an antichrist spirit. This
antichrist spirit, the serpent in the Garden of Eden, has to be brought out
into the Light and exposed as part of a spiritual battle for individual souls,
and for the soul of every nation.
Jesus also said: “Enter by
the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to
destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is
the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”
Salvation is by faith alone in the Risen Christ. But it also calls for knowledge of the Truth,
repentance, submission to Christ as Lord, and a willingness to obey His will
and Word.
“There is a way that seems right to a man but
its end is the way of death.” Proverbs 14:12 and 16: 25
We must reach out in love to those trapped in same sex
practices. Instead of judgment, which
will be the responsibility of the soon returning Jesus Christ, those aware of
God’s Word must with gentleness and humility lovingly correct those in opposition: “ And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel
but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who
are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may
know the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of
the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.”~ 2 Timothy 2:
24-26.
Although the media never covers it, the good news is that every day
dozens, maybe hundreds of individuals in the United States and other nations
are coming out of the same sex lifestyle, realizing that there is no such thing
as a same sex “gene.” Many then marry
members of the opposite sex and are then blessed with children! With the Holy
Spirit’s help we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Philippians 4:13.
The United States of America was founded on Judeo-Christian
principles, where publicly our founders rightfully gave the Living God all
credit for the miracles that enabled the settlers to survive, and the nation---against
all odds---- to be liberated from Great Britain. Until fairly recently, Jesus Christ and The
Bible were publicly supported by our Presidents. For example, President
Theodore Roosevelt stated in 1909: “My great joy and glory is that, in
occupying an exalted position in the nation, I am enabled to preach the
practical moralities of The Bible to my fellow countrymen and to hold up Christ
as the hope and Savior of the world.” (William
Federer, Prayers of the Presidents).
The one hundred year old Rose Bowl Parade has been, until now, a
family event, a child-friendly, fun
gathering of marching bands and local charities and celebrities. But on January 1, 2014 debauchery was honored
for tens of millions to watch on television all over the nation. “Debauchery”
is defined as “excessive indulgence in sensual pleasures” and “seduction from
duty or virtue.” (Random House Webster’s College Dictionary 1992)
“Seduction from duty or virtue.”
Exactly. Virtue was turned on its head. Scripture tells us that “we do not wrestle against flesh and blood
but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of
this age, against spiritual hosts of
wickedness in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12).
Clearly the spirit of perversion was at work, seducing, encouraging
sexual immorality and presenting it to millions of young children as normal. “Woe to those who call evil good, and good
evil.” Isaiah 5:20. Jude 17-19 reminds us: “But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the
apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ: how they told you there would be mockers in
the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. These are sensual persons, who cause
divisions, not having the Spirit.”
In staging a float where the Living God is mocked through public
debauchery and sexual immorality in front of millions of children, a Spiritual
earthquake of enormous magnitude took place, rocking the heavens.
God’s judgment on those involved and on our nation must surely
follow unless those involved, and those of us who didn’t protest, sincerely
repent.
There was a time when the United States stood for moral values
pleasing to a Living God. Unless there is a huge wave of repentance in our
nation among God’s people called by His Name (2 Chronicles 7:14) the response
for our nation may well be: How the
mighty have fallen! (2 Samuel 1:19).
The strength of a nation is its connection to the Living God. “Blessed is the nation whose God is the
Lord, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance.” Psalm 33:12.
Maybe it’s time to start a petition to have a different float in
next year’s Rose Bowl parade: fill a
plain platform with the hundreds or thousands of persons who have come out of
the same sex lifestyle.
Now that would be in line with the Lord’s very clear
directions to reject the flesh, to yield to His Holy Spirit, to follow Him as
the Good Shepherd to go through His narrow gate, to join Him for eternity.
